LAMDA
LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) offers internationally recognised, graded qualifications in communication and performance. Over the year, students build confidence, clear expression and stage presence as they prepare for an exam in their chosen genre.
Our LAMDA course follows the principle of the Three P’s shared across Performing Arts — Preparation, Practice and Performance. Students move from researching the qualification and analysing character and text, through devising and improvising their own work, to memorising, rehearsing and finally performing their set pieces, with opportunities to perform to their peers, staff and parents along the way.

| Term 1 |
Introduction to LAMDA An exploration of everything LAMDA has to offer, and how to find the path that best suits each student. Work covers building a character by exploring their traits, background and body language, and analysing a wide range of text genres through both theory and practical work — with the chance to perform in the end-of-term assembly. |
| Term 2 |
Devising & Performing Students choose their route of study and begin working on set pieces. Devising work, individually and in groups, promotes planning, imagination and spontaneity, while improvisation encourages creativity and the ability to become fully immersed in the moment. Throughout, students reflect on their work to sharpen their communication skills and identify their strengths and areas to develop. |
| Term 3 |
Exam Term The focus turns to performance. Students learn memory techniques to master their dialogue, then rehearse, review and refine their material — building muscle memory, developing their language ability, and growing in confidence and clarity of expression — with a view to taking their LAMDA exam in their chosen genre, and a final chance to perform in the end-of-term assembly. |
